Kyle Sweet published a poster presentation at the American College of Surgeons education conference, with members of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Department of Surgery and OU Physicians Professional Liability and Risk Management.

Along with physicians, surgery residents and risk leaders, the poster presentation studied and communicated the results of a program instituted at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Department of Surgery wherein surgery residents from multiple disciplines are provided training in medico-legal matters and the realities of testimony and cross examination.

The study found that the training, instituted by Kyle Sweet and Dr. Jason Lees, 85% of residents reported changing their medical documentation as a result of the training and over 40% reported changing the way they care for patients. This study reinforces the Firm’s commitment to the values of improving patient care and safety through leading and developing continuing medical education with our health care partners.
